北京大学分子医学研究所所长,国家杰出青年科学基金项目资助者,北京大学终生讲席教授。1987年在同济医科大学生理学系获医学硕士学位;1995年获得马里兰大学生物学博士学位,2003年获聘NIH 终身资深研究员,2006年获NIH 首批女科学家顾问研究员奖。2010年3月辞去美国NIH终身资深研究员职位,全时在北京大学工作。肖瑞平教授兼具分子生物学和转化医学背景,长期从事心血管及代谢疾病药物靶点研究;迄今已在国际一流学术刊物上发表论文100余篇,引用8000余次。担任包括《新英格兰医学杂志》副主编在内的多个国际权威杂志副主编/编委。

研究方向主要集中在心血管及代谢疾病的基础和转化研究,以基础医学研究为主,重视学科交叉,走基础与临床相结合之路,总的研究目标是在基因、蛋白质和整体水平上探讨心血管及代谢疾病的发病机理及临床防治,推进转化医学。
Dr. Xiao’s research has been focused on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, with a major emphasis on a translational approach to take bench discoveries into clinically relevant situations. Ongoing research directions include signaling pathways involved in metabolic syndrome and associated cardiovascular complications.
