宋默识,中国科学院动物研究所膜生物国家重点实验室研究员。
2011年于瑞典卡罗琳斯卡医学院获医学硕士学位,2015年于美国圣路易斯华盛顿大学获理学博士学位,后于美国斯坦福大学从事心血管方面的博士后研究。2018年初加入中国科学院动物研究所成立线粒体与疾病研究组。致力于线粒体调控心脏稳态和衰老的机制和干预研究,近五年发表SCI论文30余篇,Google Scholar引用次数>1200,其中以(共同)第一作者身份在Science、Cell、Cell Metabolism (3篇)、Circulation Research (3篇)、Nature Communications、Cell Reports、Science Signaling、Nucleic Acids Research等国际权威杂志发表SCI论文16篇 (平均IF>15),以通讯/共同通讯作者发表论文8篇。现任中国老年学和老年医学学会抗衰老分会副秘书长、中国动物学会理事、中国细胞生物学学会衰老细胞生物学分会委员、中国生理学会老龄生理学专业委员会委员。

利用人多能干细胞和转基因小鼠等研究模型,从线粒体质量控制、细胞代谢、表观遗传修饰等角度,解析线粒体对心脏稳态和衰老的调控机制和干预手段。
